Directors Statement:

Having gone through our own personal journeys of self discovery over the last few years, Erin and I have taken to developing previous projects which explore a characters personal journey within their sexuality, relationship, or craft. For Epithumia our aim is to continue encapsulating these topics within our characters to explore them further within the themes of obsession and desire, allowing for biblical symbolism through sensual gore.

Through screenwriting, I enjoy exploring queer characters and relationships, and I have recently strengthened my ability to tell these stories specifically through dialogue. I often integrate themes surrounding mythology, art, and philosophy into my work, and more recently I've begun to explore where I can take a visually artistic approach within these narratives.

My passion in film lies with telling queer stories through character studies within topics surrounding the arts, mythology, and identity, and having explored performance by staring in my own work ‘He Said, She Said’, allowed me to tie in my personal experience as a queer women in the arts into my narratives. Looking to take Epithumia further in terms of developing our largest narrative yet, my team and I are excited to see where this film will live on, aiming to bring it to festivals post graduation this year.
